Nov. 1st, 2006 09:38 pmI was able to work from home last Friday so I could make it to Mike Ford's memorial. I thought that it was quite beautiful and moving. People read from Mike's work and told some great stories about things he'd written and said. I was very glad to have gotten to spend time with folks remembering him.
Sigh.
The non-Mike related parts of the weekend were also pretty action packed. First off, I finished the last story for my new collection (at least this round, pre changes, edits, etc., etc.). I was so pleased I immediately started some new projects. :-)
The rest of the weekend was spent dealing with my day job work, going to hear a very entertaining local Irish band called 'Bedlam', seeing friends and somewhere along the line, "The Prestige." There's something about a movie with plotholes you could drive a Mac truck through that make me slightly crazy but it has a few moments.
This week has included one lovely birthday party (this evening) and is about to descend into the maelstrom of overtime. It's nice that the client likes me but do they have to like me this much? :-( I'm feeling very Code-Monkeyish (from the marvelous Jonathan Coulton song - <http://www.jonathancoulton.com>), particularly the part about "this job fulfilling in creative way, what a load of crap."
Thank you,
elisem! Sending a huge hug your way!
