Catherine updates
Sep. 10th, 2015 01:42 pmMy "as it happens" posts tend to go on Twitter (@clundoff), more personal stuff on Facebook (as me), but I"m trying to check in here as well. I'll be hosting some authors with recent releases in the near future.
In the meantime, I spent a lot of the Labor Day weekend wrestling with being sick, then having insomnia, then wrangling stuff for the upcoming neighborhood garage sale (September 19th! - ping me for details on what we're trying to have leave our household). This last is a big deal because when last we moved my mother, we kept a bunch of stuff because we weren't sure where she'd end up or what she'd want. As it turns out, not much on either count. And we have a small house, now filled with two humans, two lively cats, one art studio and way too many books. Plus a lot of Mom stuff. I took 15 bags to the ARC two weeks ago and barely made a dent. So yard sale = critical.
I also finished up an essay on being an older woman working in IT (due out next week) for Model View Culture, which is a terrific new resource on it culture and diversity. Check them out and support them - they're doing a lot of things to make tech a better place to work. I've also just had two workshop proposals accepted for February at The Loft Literary Center. I will once again be offering my previously popular writing sex scenes workshop and a second intro/overview to writing LGBTQ fiction - more details to follow soon. And Other Me (Emily L. Byrne) has a new story, "Repossession," out in Ladylit Publishing's latest antho, First: Sensual Lesbian Stories of New Beginnings, edited by Cheyenne Blue. This is my foreclosure erotica story, that was rejected a record 6 times, so I'm especially glad to find it a good home.
Press stuff: things stirring but not much progress to report yet.
Health stuff: last trip to PT today. Also known as "Festival of Ouch." But much improvement, at least, so it's been worth it.
Back to the grindstone!
