Yet more personal stuff
Nov. 30th, 2015 06:36 pmThanksgiving extended weekend was a weird mix of fun times with friends, which was lovely, and being under the weather and migrainey, which was less lovely. So there was reading and finishing up some small projects that needed to get done and watching the A&E Pride and Prejudice (Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth) in its glorious 5 hour entirety. There was also tea at Lady Elegant's Tea Shoppe in St. Paul (new owner story here) and a trip to Natural Built Homes to look at flooring options for the horror that is the nearly original linoleum in the back entryway and stairs of our little nearly 100 year old house. I'm also looking at whether or not we can get the house set up for solar panels and an attic fan, the latter being more definite than the former as it is now in a box on the porch. I also broke down and ordered the standing mixer that I've been lusting over for several years, due to arrive in the next day or so. This turned out to be a great opportunity to declutter the kitchen counter and then organize more stuff and...but you get the idea. I also picked up two rejections, started planning for multiple short fiction collections to fundraise for Queen of Swords and working on some new stuff. That which does not kill me and all that.
