First cold of the winter...
Nov. 30th, 2012 10:33 amand I've lost my voice from coughing. Bleah.
On the way to this point, I went to Stewart Von Cleve's reading from
"Land of 10,000 Loves: A History of Queer Minnesota" at Subtext Books in St. Paul on Tuesday and to Ellen Hart and R.D. Zimmerman's "Talk Mystery to Me" at the Anderson Library. Both of these were excellent and worthwhile. I always like to go and see how other authors present and discuss their work, as well as supporting the various bookstores and libraries that support genre fiction. I'm looking forward to a lot of good reading after these two presentations.
I'll probably be doing a reading (date TBD) in January at Subtext and am a featured new contributor to the Tretter Archives at the U. (now one of the largest, if not the largest, LGBTQ university collection in the world). I'm just starting to build up my archive there, but eventually my sundry papers and so forth will be at both the UNI SFWA/Gender Studies Archive and at Tretter. I'm hoping it will make my work easier to find and access.
In other news, the Cindy Sherman Show at the Walker is terrific and highly recommended.
Quatrefoil Library is having a used book sale this Saturday (12/1) in the afternoon.
And I'm working on my "Next Big Thing" post, and my steampunk ghost story and the two other blog posts that I owe people. Tomorrow morning, I go learn how to knit as one more step in my journey to be considered "truly accomplished." :-)
